What is a Unix Timestamp?

A Unix timestamp is an integer representing the number of seconds elapsed since January 1, 1970, 00:00:00 UTC (the Unix epoch). It is the standard format used by operating systems, databases, and APIs to store and transmit date and time information. This tool lets you instantly convert a timestamp to a human-readable date, or convert a date back to a timestamp.
