What is Password Strength Meter?
Powered by zxcvbn (the Dropbox-developed library), this tool estimates the real-world guessing difficulty of a password — not just length or character variety, but also common words, keyboard patterns, repeats, and dates. All processing runs in your browser; the password never leaves your device.
Tips for Strong Passwords
- At least 12 characters; 16+ is even better
- Mix uppercase, lowercase, digits, and symbols
- Avoid dictionary words, names, dates, and keyboard sequences (qwerty, 1234)
- Use a unique password per site (no reuse)
- Consider a password manager
